Rika is cute. She's childish and innocent, and one of the youngest in her group of friends. However, young or not, "Rika-chama" is mature because her parents died and she was left alone to take care of herself. There's more to that maturity, though; She's secretly a pervert and has a cynical and "emo" side to her, a side of her that has taken the toll of her hard life. However, she realizes that her friends would be alarmed if she acted this way, so tries to hide it with a cutesy exterior.
Rika's speech patterns are cutesy. She says nonsense words like "Nipa" and "Mii~" and often adds "(nano) desu" (that's how it is!) to the ends of her sentences. She also likes to include verbs in her speech ("The police car went 'wheeoowheeoo' and then they were arrested. Ka-chink~."). While some of this is fake cutesyness, one cannot deny that Rika does have some natural cuteness under the darkness of "Frederica".
